National Quantum Mission - NQM

India’s National Quantum mission (NQM) was approved by the union cabinet on 19th April 2023. NQM will be implemented by the Department of Science and Technology under the Union Ministry of Science and Technology supported by other departments. It aims to seed, nurture and scalar scientific and industrial research and development and create a vibrant and innovative ecosystem in Quantum technology. Cost of the mission is Rs. 6003.65 crores for 8 years from 2023-24 to 2030-31. Six leading nations in the development of quantum technologies and applications are US, Canada, China, France, Austria & Finland.
